Good reception and it runs on only 4 AA batteries.I have had battery operated TV’s before. This one is actually my new favorite. The reason is because it runs on 4 AA batteries. All the other small portable battery operated TV’s use a rechargeable battery which I don’t understand. How can you recharge the battery when the power is out. Plus the rechargeable battery only stays charged max. 2.5 hours. I had bought one TV where the battery only last for just over an hour. But this new RCA TV uses replaceable 4 alkaline batteries which is great. Because when the power goes out, and I have a case of batteries, I’m watching TV. Now to be honest it’s not like watching cable TV. Sometime I scan for stations and there are alto of stations to watch and at times there seem to be less. I don’t quite understand how that works. Additionally, some of the stations are just shopping and religious stations. So no HBO watching “Batman” on this thing. But when the power goes out I have the news and weather and thats all I really need. Though, a couple times have grabbed the TV and sat on the back porch to watch the news – and smoke a cigar. My wife and kids hate it but it’s my alone time. Anyway, this is probably the best TV for emergencies for now other reason than It take replaceable AA batteries and does not be recharged. Good reception, but I have never had a battery powered TV that had great reception. All of them pop in a out once and a while. Last advise. Just have a good supply of AA batteries.For the last question: Yes my experience with Batterysavers.com was good. Everything shipped on time. And yes I would buy from them again.
